English Translation
I saw that missing cloud. My scales reminded me of you, with two tongues, sleepless eyelids, and the blurred scent of wormwood. Under that missing cloud, my heart was like fire sparks. No need for shoes, unaware of ears, I hear you breathe while sleeping. I slid across the bed of bluebells. It seems spring has come. I didn’t know that chickadees sing like that. Unaware of the ocean, indifferent to flowers, I look up at the sky, just wishing to see the clouds over Wushan again. Under that missing cloud, your scales resembled the rays of the sun, unaware of the rain, hot when touched, and with the blurred scent of wormwood. I rolled on the bed of sprouting moss like back in those days. I didn’t know that sorrels are soft like this. Unaware of the spring, indifferent to flowers, I lick the wind, just wishing to see the depth of the ocean. If I could pass that big ocean, if I could see the whiteness of that cloud, and after the dream of being with you, anything else would— I slid across the bed of bluebells. When spring comes, I didn’t know that meadow buntings laugh like that. Unaware of the ocean, indifferent to flowers, I look up at the sky, just wishing to take a look at you. Under that missing cloud, my heart resembled you, with two tongues and sleepless eyelids, just like the snake I saw one day.
